Galveston Island Pickleball at Moody Gardens Golf Course hosts the Moody Gardens Pickleball Advanced Doubles Tournament on Saturday, November 7. Play starts at 8 AM and is expected to run at least five hours, depending on the draw. Men’s and women’s doubles play at the same time, and mixed doubles follows.
Play is double elimination with regular scoring, so every team gets a second chance after a loss. There are no age or skill divisions, and top local players will be seeded. The tournament is built for players at a solid 3.5 level or above, and prior tournament experience is strongly recommended.
Entry is $50 per team, and your team can also play mixed doubles as a free bonus. Prizes go to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in each division. We provide the balls; you bring your best game.
Family and friends can watch for free from the courtside seating, and the Pelican Grille will be open with food and drinks during the tournament.
Each bracket takes up to 16 teams, so sign up early by calling (409) 683-4653 or stopping by the pro shop. Payment is cashless at sign-up or on tournament day, and day-of drop-ins are welcome.
Every player must sign the pickleball waiver, and players under 18 need a parent or guardian’s signature. The courts are closed to open play and court rentals during the tournament.
